Phoenix CC Youth Road Races

Sunday 7^th August saw the Cycling Ulster Youth Road Championships promoted by Phoenix CC take place in Lower Ballinderry, Lisburn, the race also incorporated the Phoenix Open Youth Races and we had riders from as far as Galway Bay CC and Kanturk travel for the Open races. Conditions were perfect no rain, and a light wind, many of the riders would have been using the race as preparation for the upcoming National Youth Road Championships taking place in Armagh this year. The event started with the TT in the morning followed by the road races in the afternoon and all races witnessed some excellent racing.

Thank you to all the Phoenix CC Members who provided all the marshalling duties to help make the race safe for the riders, the amount of comments on facebook complimenting the club on the amount of mashals on the course was brilliant, you all played a part in the event, something I am very proud off, thanks to Mark Short and Eamon Gorman who helped me so much on the run up and on the day pf the event.

We had Lucy Brown competing in her age category race U16, she won Ulster Championship in both Road Race and TT and was also overall winner of the Phoenix CC Open Race for U16 Girls , well done Lucy
